Aardvarck – Tribute to John Coltrane

When exploring unknown territory of music, a DJ mix is often a good starting point. For me, jazz is still a bit distant and abstract (although I do have some jazz records, go to concerts and am in the middle of reading Sun Ra’s biography). It might change, also because Aardvarck just payed tribute to John Coltrane by sharing a one hour selection on RMBA Radio.

His choice for John Coltrane is maybe a surprise for those who know him from his techno and beat related productions, but Aardvarck has an encyclopidiac knowledge of music – and I’m happy he shares that with us. Oh and while your at it, please also check out the classic Sun Ra tribute by Max Cole & 1.1.

    Really dope!
    Tracklisting however is not completely correct. I hear Sayeeda’s Song Flute (my favourite Coltrane track), but it’s not mentioned in the list.
