FV 019 – Faber’s favourite things

By Radna · January 30th, 2011, 21:19 · Radio Shows

Just a few days after the party featuring Julio Bashmore and Lil’ Silva, we invited one of the Boston Strip members to the studio.

Tim Faber is already a regular visitor behind the scenes, but this time he was also in charge of the music. In the second part of the show he selected some of his favourite jazz and brazilian records. It was fun and cozy, so get yourself a glass of wine and enjoy.

PS: On another tip, you can also check Mr. Faber en Mudde out in the first Boston Strip radio show for Red Light over here, they’ll be back with a new episode soon.

FV 018 – Live from Toko MC

By Radna · January 22nd, 2011, 17:43 · Events, Radio Shows

We had a great time at our first Future Vintage party at Toko MC – thank you all for joining!

At the beginning of the night we made a radioshow on location, with a do-it-yourself set up. It was a nice experiment, and apart from the weekly show on Red Light Radio we’ll probably do more of this in the future.

Our special guest Stephen Serrato talked about his musical influences and designing record sleeves. Later that night he did a powerful set of LA based electro music – from a very early Dr. Dre to the Arabian Prince, and our small room turned into a party.

If you couldn’t make it: next month Reinier & Radna are DJing again, this time at a Friday night at the Van Gogh Museum, February 18th.

Future Vintage Party at Toko MC

By Radna · January 12th, 2011, 22:52 · Events

By public demand: 21 JAN – Future Vintage at Toko MC

It’s finally happening, we’re throwing a party! For one night we bring the sounds of our radioshow to the intimate dancefloor of Toko MC. No rules, no boundaries, but a friendly gathering of beautiful swimmers, musiclovers and selectors.

Come around 21.30 if you want to be at the recording of the radio show, because after 22.30 it’s time for a proper party with DJ’s Stephen Serrato, Radna & Reinier until 03.00.

Stephen Serrato is mostly known as a graphic designer. Originally from Los Angeles, where he designed for labels such as Stones Throw and Plug Research, he now resides in Amsterdam. In Toko MC he’ll play as diverse as his hometown and his interests go.

Radna & Reinier are every week in charge of the Future Vintage radioshow at Red Light Radio. But recently they also start DJing togther, having a mutual love for handclaps, steeldrums, early dancehall and do-it-yourself aesthetics.

Toko MC is the brand new bar/restaurant near MC Theater in Westerpark. After the succes of Toko 94 in Rotterdam, now Toko Continue reading »

By Radna · January 12th, 2011, 22:18 · Radio Shows

FV 015 – Future Times

By Radna · January 6th, 2011, 22:56 · Radio Shows

‘Things will be better in Future Times’. We played quite some music from the Future Times label lately, founded by Maxmillion Dunbar who you also might know from his Beautiful Swimmers project. When the Beautiful Swimmers were in town a few weeks ago, Reinier did an interview with them; about the label, new age aesthetics and their vision of the future. It inspired us to play lots of heavy drumcomputer stuff mixed with ambient synths and a bit of 2Pac.

Playlist:
Beautiful Swimmers – Big Coast
Dillinger – Cocaine (Acid House Mix)
The Clash – The Magnificent Dance
2Pac – If My Homie Calls
Your Older & Cooler Than U Cousin! – Yes Yes Yall (Its Time 2 Party)

fLako – Doldrums
{Future Times interview}
