Future Vintage is a radioshow dedicated to discovering the history and future of soul, jazz, hiphop, electronic & psychedelic music, with no boundaries. It’s presented by Radna, Reinier and various guest DJ’s. We broadcast every Tuesday from 8-9PM on Red Light Radio, live from the Amsterdam red light district.
In 2007 Future Vintage was founded by Melodee, Radna, Tom Trago & KC the Funkaholic. Over here you’ll find the best shows from our extensive archive, new podcasts and news & views about the music we like to share with you.
"They play nothing that you would hear on the radio, but everything you’d rather hear on the radio." – Inquiringmind Magazine
This show’s all over the place again, from dusty soul to digital beats with raps, numbers in action (check the brilliant video). Anticipation rising for the structured chaos of Peven Everett at the end of the show and this thursday in Toko MC. Does Stuck exist of anything else than adlibs?

A bit of apology (radio) blogging: Sorry for the late update. Busy as ever, and when you’re handling the show alone there seems to be no shared responsibility. Cheap excuse, but there was a broken computer as well.
While Radna was celebrating her birthday with an intimate dinner, I did this thing solo. Going analogue with vinyl, a cassette tape and an old sampler for the jingles. We might keep that sampler in our shows, getting creative with the shout outs was fun to do, and I know Radna will enjoy it too.
The selection roughly reflects what I was after the last year: warm sounds, lush synths and musicians from all genres and parts of the world exploring the wonders of electronic instruments and past times. Enjoy. -For the playlist just click here.
I can tell you something about the music we played, or the vibe we were in (check the playlist here), but it doesn’t really matter for this show, we had a special set by Suzi Analogue, and she ripped it. Check her cover of Didn’t I? for instance.
Our man Wouda, music lover that he is, brought Suzi Analogue over to Amsterdam for a while. About time because we never had a chance to see her perform here, and Suzi never rode a bike Amsterdam style. Make sure you don’t miss out: Deluge is hosting her on Saturday April 9 at Toko MC as start of his monthly Deluge endoses… nights. The week after (April 16) Suzi performs at Butter in Canvas. So you know the places to be.
To make it even easier for one of you (and a friend) there’s a little question, the right answer in our comments gets in with for free at one of aforementioned parties of choice.
The question: on which legendary producer’s alter ego did Suzi Analogue base her name?
We had a great week with Mamiko Motto from Hepcatradio coming over to Amsterdam. Not only did we play together on the Future Vintage party and the World Minimal Music Festival, ofcourse we also had to do a proper (ha) radio show together. So here it is: 2 hours of Future Vintage x Hepcat Radio with DJ sets by Max Cole, San Proper and yours truly, plus Mamiko on the mic. Stream it, download it, send it to your friends. A playlist might follow, but for now just enjoy the music. PS: tomorrow we have Suzi Analogue from LA in the studio. PPS: This wednesday Mamiko is moving to the brand new station NTS Radio - stay involved!
