For the second time we’ll join the World Minimal Music Festival at Muziekgebouw, and this time we’re happy to team up with Subbacultcha for a Sunday afternoon including performances by Patten (DJ/re-edit set) and Maxmillion Dunbar (live). I think we are playing Max D and Future Times music since we heard of them some years ago, so as a regular Future Vintage listener you probably know what’s up.

To get in the mood, this show is inspired by the WMMF festival and contains some tracks that we’ll play at Muziekgebouw too. And yes, the mic was broken, so there’s not much talking going on this week. But I think the music makes up for that.

Coming back from a week in Istanbul, I was surprised with the cold in Amsterdam, but flu or no flu, there’s still a radio show.

This show was a bit hush hush, in an earlier time slot as usual, doing it solo and speeding of to Paradiso to see The Internet afterwards (who were ace live).

A bit of improvisation with recent favorites like Burgundy Whip and Strange Vale, weird pull-ups and a little confused handling mic and music at the same time, without Radna.

This show was a really nice mix of some music from Uruguay sent by longtime listener Yamandu Roos, but also a new edit by Maxmillion Dunbar, and that Jasmine song by Jai Paul (while we are waiting for more). It feels pretty live, probably also because I left the mic open and we had some visitors in the studio.

That Marvin Gaye song is simply ripped from Youtube, part of the must see documentary about the time he spent in Ostend, a Belgium town at the sea.

Pulling inspiration from the DJ gig playing in the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ in support of Darkstar, we played some songs that worked good.

Starting with the slow piano of Herbie Hancock, another song of the upcoming Yatha Butha Jazz Combo and bridging the gap with bells by Ryuichi Sakamoto (which, as Lolo2k pointed out on Soundcloud is also soundtrack to Studio Ghibli’s Castle in the Sky.)
