I can’t believe I just pulled that fabulous trick of alliteration. Do you see how many S’s are above?!
Anyway, I’m not here to discuss my literary prowess with you. I’m here to talk about the opportunity to shop in Sammy’s Showroom [AKA space @ Manhattan Storage Space] now through the middle of February.
“The middle of February? Why is there a deadline?!” You may be asking.
Because I am soon launching an online store on the amazing digital vintage marketplace Market Publique. And with a storage space filled with the equivalent of three chica’s wardrobes [no lie], it’s just become an overwhelming amount of clothing, expenses [it’s $211 a month, that’s slightly less than 1/3 my rent] and just … inefficient energy.
And we all know how I hate inefficient energy, yo!
So I’m downsizing the collection, curating the BEST pieces only, and moving out of the storage space to work from the comforts of my [small] apartment. Hope the roomie doesn’t get too cramped.
Two fabulous women, creative talents & damn good friends, music connoisseur/Show Paper promoter Katie Wagner and singer/songwriter/jewelry designer/woman-of-all-trades Rebecca Schiffman, stopped by the showroom last night to take a lookie.
And the best part? I gave them 50 percent off their purchases, because I wasn’t paying overhead to sell at the market.
“Wow, Sammy. You’re such a nice girl!”
Yeah, I try!
Katie & Rebecca went home happy vintage shoppers. Sammy D loves her happy shoppers who give her pretty little vintage things happy homes! Read on to check out what they found, and email me for shopping deets — now through February 1st to set up an appointment!
Rebecca [left] and Katie arrive, trembling with anticipation for a private showing of the collection.
Rebecca gets down [literally — check out her socks!] with the racks.
If I were getting married anytime soon, I’d squeeze my feet into these beautiful lace/sequin heels of the 60s. Rebecca couldn’t fit ‘em – her feet were too small.
But what DID fit was this fabulous leather-aqua-high-waisted-skirt on Miss Katie! She loved how it accentuated everything amazing about her body.
Remember when your mom bought you a “rain jacket” when you were younger, complete with hood, drawstring, and awkward, bodyless shape?
Well, this is a rain jacket that contains all of the elements above. But seriously … how authentic can you get? It’s a vintage London Fog, complete with tartan pattern in the hood and inside the jacket. And it’s YELLOW. You may as well apply to be the new Morton Salt girl.
We forced Rebecca to try on this all-leather-tassle-Western-inspired dress. It’s a size 2, and just because not every girl is that petite, we forced it on Rebecca “just to see” if she’d like it. She didn’t end up purchasing this little baby. It’s still up for grabs!
The coolest/kookiest/warmest coat with TOGGLES. One of those pieces that will catch people’s attention on the street — in a GOOD way. I can’t wait for Katie to tell me how many people compliment her daily on this bangin’ winter coat.
Katie and I are all smiles, despite the awkwardness of this shot.
Check the bags! Happy vintage shoppers with bags full of happy vintage things! [yes, my collection is personified, they DO have feelings!]
