The pandemic has changed many things about the way we live. Travel plans have changed, and keeping safe has become a priority among many. As multiple waves of this pandemic continue, you may find yourself missing some of the special things you used to do at a whim before. Like, take a walk outside, attend parties and go thrift shopping.
You may also find yourself worried about missing these things too. Because you’ll feel like there are more important things going on right now than a great bargain at the thrift store. So, you’ll start to question yourself. Am I that addicted to thrift shopping? What is going on?
The answer is that you’re not. Since we’ve been cooped on for so long, it is only normal that you miss some of the things that you used to do. It’s the reason why you’re missing many of your other activities, too. We’d love to help with that. So here are a few tips to help you survive at a time like this.
Rather Than Feel Stuck Inside, See It as A Time to Focus on You
What’s that special thing you’ve been wishing you had time for since forever? Well, you have that time now. So, focus on the positive that this is a splendid chance to build yourself. Clear out your long-term to-do list. The feeling that comes with finally achieving all those can be very uplifting.
Maintain A Somewhat Normal Routine
As you have reduced time to spend outside, it could tempt you to not make an effort. It is so easy to slip into the routine of never standing up from your bed at all. The problem with that is you’ll start to think negatively. So do your best to wake up refreshed and get right out of bed when you do. Shower, brush, and have breakfast at the same time. This will keep you active and help keep the negative vibes away.
Don’t Obsess Over the News
You’ll see lots of updates, countless stories, and more about the pandemic as you check the news. Avoid reading them as much as you can. Obsessing over every outbreak increase or death could have a negative impact on you.
Choose to read your news from only government-approved sources and limit that to only two sources. Any update you don’t see in 30 minutes is irrelevant, so limit the time you spend surfing for pandemic news to 30minutes only too. You can do better things with your time. You can check for 30 minutes in the morning and then in the evening too.
Arrange Your House
You may feel unaffected, but there’s a reason people feel motivated and refreshed after tidying up. It’s because whether they acknowledge it or not, the clutter affected them. So, try your best to keep your house organized. Set boundaries for your activities, too. No eating in bed!
Talk to A Therapist
If your anxiety becomes unmanageable, it’s time to talk to someone who can help like BetterHelp. You don’t have to compromise your health in the process either. There are online therapists who you can talk to from the comfort of your house. They’ll help you sort your feelings out and heal mentally.
