I wouldnt exactly define “colorblocking” as just “wide stripes”. Colorblock in fashion terms means blocks, shapes or panels of color – not exactly just stripes.

Good point! You confirm a thought we had too, on expanding a bit more about WHAT color blocking is. Definitely will follow instinct next time. Thanks for commenting Dana and I hope that business is going well! (and that the 22.5 inch dress new to the shop sells to some lucky tiny-waisted lady)

I love this so much! I really love how you emphasized *how* to achieve the look and the importance of breaking up the different stripes with a belt, or skin. Amazing job!!

hi Lia! Thanks so much for watching AND leaving a comment. Style kudos!! Yes, mixing/matching stripes is all about breaking it up. I learned this in research and was so happy to pass it on. xoxo

Sammy – I was watching this and eyeing this diagnol-striped Jordache sweater that I just thrifted this week (Salvation Army!) but thinking “there is no way I can do that” and then after watching your awesome video I went into my closet and lo and behold I found a skirt with small-diagnol stripes in roughly the same colors as my Jordache sweater plus a patterned belt that perfectly cinches my waist and breaks up the look. I LOVE YOU! You’re my inspiration. I am going to be sooooooo happy to wear my fashionable look!

I’m not going to lie. I was a little worried at first, but the look came out FAN-TA-BU-LOUS!! (I totally made up that word…lol)

OMG I might have to try that. You are so freaking cute! That would be perfect for an outdoor spring festival/concert.

    LOVES IT!!

OMG! YOU ARE A FASHIONSTA AFTER MY OWN HEART. **SIGH** I love love this video you are incredibily talented. Hope you don’t mine I will post this video on my blog. Hopefully in the near future I can duplicate something similar to what you’ve done. Also, I love your replica look. I truly love it! I think its more street friendly. BTW, who was the original designer? I love the cap and sweater. Would love to purchase if I can find. I am older, I did the shabby chic in the 80’s. I’ve since graduated to a more mature variation of eclectic fashion.
