Vintage Kitchenware That Is Fun To Have

by Bonnie Leave a Comment

The best vintage kitchenware will add a touch of whimsy to your kitchen and be functional at the same time. Most of the kitchen equipment from years gone by was much simpler than the modern equivalents. The great thing about simple equipment is that it rarely breaks down, and is really satisfying to use.

You might get a piece of vintage kitchenware because you love the way it looks, and find out that you use it more than you could ever have guessed! Here are a few kitchenware items from the past that are super fun to own!

This might look like an an obsolete antique, but it is so incredibly practical! Growing up, we had one in the kitchen and used it to make fresh applesauce. It was fun to take turns spinning the handle. These were made in the ’50s and ’60s, and are a real treasure to find!

Cookie Jar

Cookie jars have gone out of style, and it’s too bad! This is a fun item to have in your kitchen, because of course if you have a cookie jar you’ll need to be filling it up with sweet treats! Cookie jars were most popular in the states after WWII and into the ’70s. Have fun looking around for the funniest, weirdest cookie jar you can find.

Wooden Rolling Pin

Many thrift stores have several wooden rolling pins rolling around on the shelves. These are fun to have in the kitchen because you can use them to make flaky crusts of all shapes and sizes. They also look sweet as a decoration!

Flour Sifter

Did you have a flour sifter in the kitchen when you were growing up? This little machine allows you to sprinkle flour into your recipe instead of scooping in clumps. Some of them are collectibles!

Tea Set

I always check out tea cups when I go into thrift stores. Beautiful and dainty tea cups are fun to have around the kitchen. Invite friends over for a lovely tea party to show off your new set!

Bread Box

People used to keep their bread and pastries in bread boxes. What a delightful way to add some vintage vibes to your counter top!

Vintage kitchenware is fun to shop for. You can find some really great items when you start digging through the shelves! Some tools are still so relevant and will get you cooking and baking some old-fashioned recipes that you haven’t thought about in a while! Which item is your favorite?
